Two killed in Truck Accident on Rural Texas Road

KWTX is reporting that a crash involving a car and an 18-wheeler truck resulted in two deaths on a rural Texas road.

Details about the Fatal Truck Accident

On late Tuesday night, near the Robertson-Milam County line, a car and a large truck collided on a rural Texas road. The two people that died in the accident have since been identified as Gerald Steward-Dykes, who was 29-years-old, and Jaylon Dykes, who was 8-years-old. The third passenger in the car, Torilynn Thomas, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. However, the driver of the truck, Brian Ritter, did not sustain any injuries.

The crash occurred on Highway 79 when the driver of the car attempted to make a U-turn, but steered into the path of the oncoming 18-wheeler.

According to KBTX-TV, the truck belonged Sander Farms.
