Two-vehicle Collision leaves Two Women Dead, Several Injured

According to MLive, two women were killed and four others sustained injuries in a crash involving two vehicles in Berrien County, Michigan, on Monday.

Cause of Crash Unknown

Five people were driving east on Warren Woods Road at around 4:12 p.m. local time when the fatal wreck happened. The Chevrolet sedan approached Cleveland Road and failed to stop at the stop sign. The sedan was hit by a pickup truck traveling southbound on Cleveland Road.

Officials say two people were discovered dead at the scene of the crash, according to MLive. A 41-year-old Illinois woman and a 37-year-old Cass County woman died in the crash. The driver of the Chevrolet car, a 66-year-old male, was taken to a hospital in South Bend, Indiana, with life-threatening injuries. The front passenger in the car, a 66-year-old woman, was taken to the same hospital with internal and head injuries.

A male passenger in the back seat of the Chevrolet was also injured and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The 51-year-old male driver of the pickup truck received non-life-threatening injuries in the wreck. MLive reports that weather and road conditions do not seem to be a factor in the crash, and the use of narcotics or alcohol is still being investigated.
