According to WDSU, emergency responders transported a couple and their son to the hospital Saturday after a vehicle crashed into their home and struck a gas line. The result was a fiery explosion that engulfed the home.
The wife was listed in critical condition while the conditions of her husband and son were not immediately available.
The events leading up to the crash are being unavailable, but police say the driver, Arnulfo Castro, 40, claimed his brakes failed prior to the crash. The driver was taken into custody for not having a valid driver’s license.
Two police officers were also injured while responding to the scene.
