Woman, 54, Killed in Crash involving an 18-wheeler

According to WNDU, a woman sustained fatal injuries after being hit by a tractor-trailer while driving in Benton Township, Michigan, on Saturday morning.

Details of Fatal Crash

The fatal accident occurred on Interstate 94 at around 6:00 a.m. local time. Officials say Kareema Abdulkhaleq Mansoor, 54, was a passenger in a Toyota vehicle when they were hit by a semi from behind. The impact caused the car to spin out and smash into a concrete median barrier.

Mansoor, a resident of Iraq, died at the scene of the wreck. WNDU reports that the driver of the Toyota, Sally Al Alwani, and another passenger were injured in the crash. The truck driver, 24-year-old Michael Adams of Detroit, did not sustain injuries.

According to WNDU, the crash remains under investigation. The fatal crash happened near the Napier Avenue exit.
