Woman, 56, Dies in Crash Involving Logging Truck

According to WSET, a woman is dead following a crash with a semi-truck carrying logs in Bedford County, Virginia, on Thursday morning.

About the Deadly Trucking Crash

The fatal accident occurred on Route 460 near Blackwater Road at around 8:30 a.m. local time. Susan Myers, 46, collided with the truck as it attempted to make a left turn from the right-hand lane.

WSET reports that the woman died at the scene of the accident. Officials say she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Police say the logging truck driver’s attempt to enter the cross over from the right-hand travel lane was improper.

The driver, Robert Perry, was cited for making an improper turn, according to WSET. The Virginia State Police Accident Reconstruction Team is assisting with the scene, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
