Woman Killed in Freak Accident at Coffee Shop

A woman was killed in a freak accident that happened in the drive-thru at a coffee shop in Summerville.

Details about the Freak Accident

ABC News 4 is reporting that a woman from North Charleston was killed in what police have been describing as a freak accident that happened in the drive-thru lane at a Summerville coffee shop on Wednesday.

According to authorities, the woman was in the drive-thru at Biggby Coffee, when she apparently attempted to lean out of the vehicle to reach for something she had dropped. That’s when, police say, that her vehicle lurched forward, pinner her between the building and the vehicle.

The woman has been identified by the Dorchester County Coroner as 28-year-old Pamela Page.

A chaplain was sent to the scene of the accident to speak with the employees who witnessed the accident.

Biggby’s Coffee Shop was closed after the events of the incident, and the owners posted a sign on the door saying that the shop would be closed for two days out of respect for the family of the victim and to give the employees some time off to process what they had witnessed.

The accident is currently being investigated by the Summerville Police Department.
