Woman in Stalled Truck Killed in Highway Crash


According to the San Antonio Express-News, a man and a woman were struck by a semi truck in San Antonio while in a stalled pickup truck on the highway, killing the woman and injuring the man.

Details of the Fatal Crash

Cynthia Ann Vanlandingham, 59, and another male occupant stalled their pickup truck on Interstate 35 near Zarzamora Street in San Antonio at around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police say a large truck collided with the stalled-out pickup, causing severe blunt force trauma to Vanlandingham. The San Antonio Express-News reports that she died at the scene of the crash. The man was taken to a nearby hospital in an ambulance.

The driver of the large truck was uninjured in the wreck. Northbound lanes of Interstate 35 were closed for about an hour as the wreckage of the fatal accident was cleaned up.
