A construction worker was killed on the job Friday following an accident with an excavator at a worksite in Windsor, Connecticut.
According to NBC Connecticut, 51-year-old Danny King was crushed between a backhoe and a trench box while working inside the trench around 1:30 pm Friday.
Emergency workers administered medical aid at the scene, but King was pronounced dead after arriving to an area hospital.
The victim’s father, John King, is the owner of the Bloomfield construction company and said that in his 50 years of owning the business, there has never been an accident like the one that claimed his son’s life.
A friend of the victim described Danny has a hard worker and stated that the man had lost his only daughter in an auto accident only a few years earlier.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and South Windsor police are investigating the incident.
