A worker was killed in an accident at a food processing plant.

Details about the Fatal Accident

Multiple sources are reporting that a 44-year-old male worker was killed in an accident that happened at a food processing plant in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, according to authorities.

Police say that they, along with firefighters responded to the scene of the accident that happened late Monday at Burnette Foods in East Jordan. The man was found already dead at the scene of the accident. The man has been identified by family members as Curtis Fay of East Jordan. The man’s family indicates that Fay worked cleaning the machines at the Charlevoix County plant.

The police chief from East Jordan indicates that the man fell into the mixing area and that his death remains under investigation.

Burnett Foods is known to produce fruit and vegetable products, juices and sauces. The company is fully cooperating with authorities on the investigation.
