Investigators are looking into a Midland construction accident that left one man dead and other injured.
Details of the Midland Construction Accident
According to city spokeswoman Sara Bustilloz, the two workers were demolishing a brick wall when they were involved in a scissor lift accident.
Investigators said the accident occurred when the wall collapsed on to the lift that held the two men, causing it to fall. The men fell 20 feet to the ground.
Both workers were transported to Midland Memorial Hospital – unfortunately, one of the workers, identified as 26-year old Fabian Garduno-Martinez, died from his injuries.
According to the Midland-Reporter Telegram, the accident occurred around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday at a former Chase Bank Building located at 2301 West Wall Street.
