Two workers were fatally injured Monday evening as a result of an industrial accident at a plant in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
Details of the Industrial Accident
According to WRAL, emergency crews were called to the SPX Transformer Solutions Inc. plant in Wayne County around 6 p.m. Monday.
Preliminary reports indicated that an employee who had been working on a transformer was unresponsive. Two employees who entered the transformer to aid the first worker also became unresponsive.
The deceased were identified as Dennis Martin, 51, and Daniel Craig Anderson, 33. The third worker, 40-year-old William Sariak, was reported to be in critical condition Tuesday morning.
Officials are unsure what caused the workers injuries; however, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is scheduled to investigate the incident.
