58-Year-Old Construction Worker Killed in Excavator Accident
According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, a 58-year-old construction worker was killed on the job at a worksite in Fishkill, New York, on Saturday afternoon.
OSHA Investigating Fatal Work Incident
The accident occurred at the Gap Inc. distribution center, which was having work done due to damage caused by a fire in late August. James Parisella, 58, was operating an excavator when a piece of a steel beam and tin pierced the cab, striking him.
Parisella died at the scene of the accident, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Environmental Remediation Services Inc. of Syracuse employed Parisella, who had vast experience in demolition work across the country.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating the workplace death.
