Construction Worker, 28, Struck and Killed by Circular Saw
According to The Boston Globe, a man died after suffering a fatal injury at a construction site in Duxbury, Massachusetts, on Saturday afternoon.
Details of the Workplace Fatality
Jason Sanderson, 28, worked at a construction site at 907 Tremont Street at approximately 2:00 p.m. when the accident occurred. Officials say Sanderson worked on an underground water line, cutting pipes with a circular chop saw when the saw jolted back and struck him in the neck.
The saw severely cut Sanderson in the neck, according to The Boston Globe, causing a fatal injury. Sanderson received treatment at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth before being pronounced dead.
When the accident occurred, another worker was present in the hole where the pipes were being cut. According to The Boston Globe, no foul play is suspected in the deadly accident.
According to a woman who identified herself as the victim’s sister, Sanderson had the day off and helped with the project to make some extra money for his family.
