Fellow Construction Workers Spring to Rescue

Two nearby construction workers heard the screams of Jerry Davis, 29, coming from the manhole near the construction site they were working on at E.E. Robinson Park in Gwinnett County.

Without hesitating, they jumped in to try and save Davis without knowing there was a gas leak. Davis succumbed to the poisonous gas before he could be saved. One of the construction workers who jumped in to help is still recovering in the hospital.

The other construction worker that jumped into the manhole told WSB-TV that the injured construction worker isn’t doing well, and that “he can’t speak or see.”

According to WSB-TV, OSHA has confirmed that they’re investigating the case.
