Two Hospitalized Following Construction Accident at Mather Airport

According to The Sacramento Bee, the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health officials said that two people were sent to a hospital on Thursday morning after a metal beam fell on them at an Mather Airport construction site.
About the Construction Accident
The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District received reports of a collapsed building at the airport near Bullard Street and Superfortress Avenue around 10:50 am, as stated by Maurice Johnson, fire district assistant chief.
However, after fire district personnel entered the building, responders found that a building had not collapsed, but rather a beam had in fallen on the pair at one of the airport’s hangers, Johnson reported. Julia Bernstein, a Cal-OSHA spokeswoman stated that the incident occurred when the injured workers lost control of the beams as they were attempting to connect the iron beams.
