Worker Killed in Accident at South Texas Alcoa Plant

A contract worker was fatally injured in an industrial accident at an Alcoa manufacturing plant on Tuesday.

About the Fatal Alcoa Accident

According to reports from the Associated Press, the 42-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a door that was being installed on a tank by a crane.

The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon at the Alcoa World Alumina manufacturing plant in Point Comfort, Texas.

Details on the incident are scarce, and Alcoa has declined to disclose how the accident happened or provide details on the work that was being completed.

Federal authorities have been sent to investigate the plant.
