Young Girl Hit and Killed by Tractor Trailer

A young girl was killed in an accident that happened in Chicago.

Details about the Fatal Accident

Multiple sources are reporting that a young girl was killed in an accident that involved a tractor in the Chicago area while her and her mother were attempting to cross the street.

A spokesperson from the Chicago police department has stated that the accident happened at about 7:50 a.m. in the West Englewood neighborhood which is on the south side of the city. The medical examiner’s office from Cook County has identified the girl as Samyra Lee. Police have stated that they believe that the girl was hit by the trailer portion on the tractor as the tractor was heading south.

The girl was transported to the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The tractor was being driven by an employee of the city’s Street and Sanitation Department contractor. The driver was issued a citation as a result of the accident.
