BMW Recalls 7,600 3-Series Vehicles

Kathalene E. Willis4 years ago

BMW is recalling 7,600 3-Series vehicles from the 2012 model year because they fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard requirements for head restraints.

According to the official recall notice, the head restraints can suddenly move down during a car accident, increasing the risk of injury to passengers.

What Can Owners Do?

  • The recall is scheduled to begin during May 2012.
  • BMW will contact owners and arrange to install a new component to add to the current head restraint.
  • Owners with questions or concerns may contact BMW customer relations at 1-800-525-7417.
