One pedestrian was killed in Boise after being hit by a vehicle.

Details about the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

The Idaho Statesman is reporting that a 64-year-old man was killed after being hit by a vehicle near the intersection of South Development Avenue and West Robinson Road at around 2:45 p.m. on Friday afternoon, according to a press release from the Boise Police Department.

The driver of the vehicle, 24-year-old Tyler C. Martinez, of Boise, was driving north on Development Avenue when he crossed over the center lane and moved into the opposite lanes, hitting the pedestrian. Witnesses at the scene of the accident say that they saw the driver continue driving north after the accident.

The driver of the vehicle then stopped after he reportedly crashed the car into a fence, according to the Boise Police Department.

The male pedestrian was taken to the hospital where he later died. The name of the man has not been released pending notification of family. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody and faces a felony charge for probation violation.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
