Farren Washington2 years ago

Former Olympic U.S. track and field athlete and television personality Bruce Jenner was involved in a multi-car collision in Malibu, California on Saturday.

About the Crash

According to the New York Times, the crash occurred around noon on the Pacific Coast Highway, north of Los Angeles. Jenner was not injured in the crash, but one of the victims, Kim Howe, 69, of Calabasas, California was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other five people involved in the accident, a family of two adults and three children were taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution. There were no injuries apparent at the time of the collision. Local officials are still investigating the cause of the crash.

Investigators are seeking the public's assistance in locating additional witnesses or anyone with information about the crash. It could take up to six months before a final determination of fault, if any, is made.

Description of the Crash

Jenner is routinely followed by paparazzi, but there is no indication that the photographers had anything to do with the accident.

Jenner was driving a black Cadillac Escalade and pulling a trailer with a dune buggy. In halting traffic, a white Lexus sedan apparently struck a Prius that had slowed or stopped. Jenner rear-ended the white sedan, and it veered into oncoming traffic, where it was struck head-on by a Hummer.

Jenner volunteered to be tested for drugs and alcohol. Jenner released a statement Sunday expressing sympathy for the victims and regret for his involvement in the wreck.
