Burbank Teen Fatally Struck by Dump Truck

A 13-year-old boy was struck and killed by a driver of a dump truck, Friday June 3rd 2016 in Burbank, Illinois.

About the Burbank Trucking Accident

According to the Oak Lawn Patch, Burbank officials confirmed the boy was riding a bike at the moment of the accident. He was driving eastbound on the sidewalk on 87th Street.

The driver was taken to the hospital, where he was tested for drugs or alcohol intake, and the results were negative. Yet, if after several investigations, officials find out there were drugs and alcohol involved, he would face more charges.

The driver is 69-years-old and worked for RJ&R Trucking and Excavating in Frankfort. The driver is father himself so he’s very devastated by the accident and will have a court hearing July 19th according to Burbank officials.

The boy’s name is still pending.

    • 439 were listed as nonoccupants, including pedestrians and bicyclists
  • An additional 95,000 people were injured in trucking accidents in 2013.
