Bus Overturns in San Bernardino County – Dozens Hospitalized

According to San Bernardino County Fire Department, a shuttle bus in Highland, California rolled over on Highway 330, leaving dozens of people injured. 

San Bernardino County Fire Department and the Bus Rollover

San Bernardino County Fire Department officials say a shuttle bus that was carrying around 50 people rolled over on Highway 330 last Sunday. ABC 7 News, reports the crash happened around 2:00 pm close to Highland Avenue. Highland Avenue up to City Creek Ranger Station was closed as a result of the crash.

21 passengers were taken to the hospital, four of whom suffered major injuries; however, authorities have stated none of the injuries were considered to be life-threatening. According to officials, the primary hospital the injured passengers were taken to was Loma Linda University Medical Center.

The bus’s passengers included a group of women from the Ministerios Llamada Final Church in Downey, California. This information came from an announcement at the church made by the pastor at the 3:00 pm service.

  • In 2014, 156 fatal crashes involving large trucks were due to rollover or overturn
  • In 2014, 111 out of the 156 fatal rollover crashes involved a single vehicle
  • In 2014, 5,000 injury rollover crashes were reported
  • In 2014, 4,000 of the 5,000 injury rollover crashes involved a single vehicle
  • The total number of fatal large truck crashes in 2014 was 3,424
  • The total number of injury large truck crashes in 2014 was 82,000
