California Company Recalls 58,240 Pounds of Beef Used in School Lunches
About the Ground Beef Recall
An investigation by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has found that some cases of ground beef that were sent to distribution centers in Texas, Montana, California and Arkansas contain small pieces of plastic inside.
Description of Recalled Ground Beef
- The ground beef was to be used in the National School Lunch Program and was found after customer complaints.
- Codes on the cases can be identified, 6063A3091A or 6063A3091B, along with the words “Fine Ground Beef” and Est. number 6063A within the USDA Mark of Inspection.
- No illnesses or injuries have been reported by the incident.
- Those concerned about illness or injury pertaining to the recall should consult their healthcare provider immediately.
