The Can-Am Mini DS ATVs have been recalled due to the failure to meet performance requirements of the Federal ATV standard.  The youth ATVs do not meet the standard for parking brakes and a maximum unrestricted speed.

This can cause a crash hazard for the drivers and passengers.

Details of Youth Model Can-Am ATV Recall

This recall includes 2008-2014 DS 70 ATV models that do not meet the requirements regarding unrestricted maximum speed and parking brake safety.  The engine sizes involved in the recall are 70 cubic centimeters and 90 cubic centimeters.

Approximately 12,500 youth models have been distributed in either black or yellow.  The engine size and the wording “Can-Am DS” are located on both sides of the vehicle.  “Can-Am” is also printed on both sides of the seat in white letters.

No injuries have been reported so far.  Can-Am Mini DS ATVs were sold nationwide from July 2007 to January 2015 anywhere from $1,800 to $2,800.  Bombardier Recreational Products, of Canada imports these vehicles that are manufactured in Vietnam.

Immediately stop all use of the recalled youth ATV models and call a BRP dealer for a free repair.
