Car Companies Announce Recall for Airbags

Jasmine Roziers2 years ago

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced the recall of about 2.1 million older automobiles due to airbags not deploying.

About the Airbag Recall

According to the NHTSA, 2.1 million older model cars from Fiat Chrysler, Toyota, and Honda have faulty airbags.

NHTSA has reported at least 400 airbags did not deploy upon impact. There have been reports of minor injuries, but there are no known deaths reported at the moment.

Reuters reports that these airbags are not in relation to the recent recall of Takata Corp airbags. These airbags recalled in specific are due to a microchip error. 39 vehicles recalled originally all have the microchip issue prior to the newest recall.
