Car Crashes through Texas Gas Station

Baisha Kreuzer4 years ago

A gas station clerk attendant was almost severely injured by a drunk driver who drove her car straight through the building, according to several news outlets. Fortunately, the clerk managed to stagger out of the way enough to prevent the car from doing any serious damage to himself.

About the Accident

According to, Rajmish “Raj” Kumar (28) of Navasota, Texas, was minding his register on a typical Monday night at the Hi Ho Store & Café when a 2001 Honda Passport barged through the wall right where Kumar was standing. As the car crashed into the building, the impact sent Kumar flying about 15 feet across the store. Luckily, he managed to react immediately and hurried out of the store.

A person who was pumping gas at the station witnessed the entire scene and immediately notified 911. Kumar was then transported by an ambulance to the St. Joseph Regional Health Center of Bryan where he was maintained under their care until released.

The Aftermath

Fortunately, Kumar was not seriously injured and was able to return to work within a few days. Police charged Navasota resident Denise Wilson (36), who was the driver of the car, for intoxication assault and she was taken to the Grimes County Jail. According to the police, she explains the incident by stating she pushed on the accelerator thinking it was the brake as she pulled into the parking lot. Authorities say she was under the influence of alcohol.

A few days later, she was released after posting a $100,000 bond.
