Charter Bus Carrying Corpus Christi Students Struck by 18-Wheeler

A charter bus carrying fifty-five students from Moody High School in Corpus Christi, Texas was involved in a collision with a tractor-trailer early Wednesday morning.

About the Victoria Charter Bus Accident

  • The Victoria Advocate reports that the students were on their way to a Renaissance Festival outside of Houston when their bus was struck by a tractor-trailer on Highway 77 south of Victoria.
  • As the bus slowed down upon approaching a minor traffic accident, a 2007 Freightliner rear ended the charter bus rendering it “not drivable,” according to Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Trooper Gerald Bryant.
  • The driver of the Freightliner, Jesus Moreno, 59, has been cited for failure to control speed. Investigations into the accident are still underway.
