Destiny Baker3 years ago

Authorities in Chesterfield, Missouri are searching for the driver responsible for the hit-and-run death of 41-year-old Roy Joseph.

Driver Flees from Scene of Fatal Pedestrian Accident

According to a FOX affiliate, the body of Roy Joseph was found shortly before 7 am Wednesday off Olive Boulevard near King of Kings Lutheran Church.

The owner of a nearby travel agency, Swatankar Kumar, noted that traffic in the area can become heavy during the morning and evening rush hours and commented on the dangers of crossing the road.

To make matters worse, there is only a narrow walkway on the north side of the street where Joseph was found, which was covered in recently-plowed snow.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have information about the accident to come forward as they attempt to locate the hit-and-run driver.

It is the second fatal hit-and-run accident reported in the area this week.

Thousand Killed in Pedestrian Accidents Every Year

  • If a pedestrian must walk in the street, they are urged to walk facing traffic.
