Chevy Cruze Recalled- 30 Vehicle Fires Reported

General Motors is recalling 413,418 Chevrolet Cruze vehicles due to a fire hazard. There have been 30 reports of vehicle fires involving the popular sedans.

Important Information for Chevy Cruze Owners

  • This recall involves 2011 and 2012 Chevrolet Cruze vehicles.
  • According to the recall release, oil trapped near the engine (which can occur after an oil change) could cause the engine shield to ignite and burn.  
  • This could result in an engine compartment fire, personal injury, or death.
