A child was injured in an accident that happened on Interstate 70.

Details about the Child Accident

The Tribune-Review is reporting that a 3-year-old child was taken to the hospital via helicopter to be treated for his injuries sustained in an accident that happened along Interstate 70 early Wednesday morning.

According to an emergency dispatcher from Westmoreland County, the accident involved a tractor trailer and a small sedan. The accident happened near the Madison exit at about 2:50 a.m. The dispatcher further stated that there were no other injuries that were reported.

The child was taken to the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. The dispatcher said that the injuries to the child did not appear to be life-threatening. The Herminie, Yukon, and New Stanton fire departments all responded to the scene of the accident, which remains under investigation at this time.
