Child Seats Recalled Due to Fall Hazard

Britax has announced the recall of infant car seats due to a fall hazard they pose to infants.

Details about the Child Seat Recall

As reported by the Consumer Safety Product Safety Commission, Britax has announced the recall of 71,000 (some of which were sold in Canada and Mexico) of its infant car seats due to a fall hazard.

The recall included Britax B-Safe 35 and B-Safe 35 Elite car seat systems that were manufactured between October 1, 2014 and July 1, 2015. The products can be used as both a rear facing seat as well as an infant carrier and have a canopy, a black shell base, and were sold in a variety of colors.

The logo for the company can be found printed on both sides of the shell of the seats. Model numbers and the date of manufacture are printed on a label on the back of the car seat.

Models Included in the Recall are:

  • B-Safe 35 – Model Numbers: E9LU65M, E9LU65P, E9LU63F, E9LU66R, E9LS63F, EXLU65M
  • B-Safe 35 Elite – Model Numbers: E9LS55T, E9LS56P, E9LS55U, E9LS66C, E9LS65U
  • B-Safe 35 Travel System – Model Numbers: S914900, S915400, S915200, S921900, S01635200
  • All of the recalled items were manufactured between October 1, 214 and July 1, 2015.

The recalled items were sold at Babies R US, buybuy Baby, Target, and other stores. Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the seat by the handle until he repair is installed. All consumers who have previously registered their product will receive a free repair kit.
