Christian Radio Host Arrested on Sexual Misconduct Charges
Authorities near Gaylord, Mich. arrested Christian radio host John Balyo on Friday on charges of first-degree sexual misconduct. According to WZZM 13, Baylo was arrested during the Big Ticket Festival outside of Gaylord.
Balyo Charged with Sexual Misconduct
Balyo is accused of paying someone to arrange sexual encounters with minors. The charges were brought about by an investigation conducted by Homeland Security Investigations called Operation Predator. Operation Predator is described by WZZM as “an international initiative to protect children from sexual predators.”
Authorities say Balyo paid Ron Moser, 41, to arrange sexual encounters with minors. Moser’s home was raided earlier this month and allegedy operated a website that offered sex with underage boys. Police found Moser with a 12-year-old boy and confiscated child pornography when they raided his home.
Baylo Fired from WCSG
WCSG, the station for which Balyo was a host, said on Saturday that, “Effective today, John Balyo is no longer affiliated with WCSG Radio. Chris Lemke, general manager of WCSG will address this matter on-air at 7:30 a.m. during Monday’s (June 23) WCSG morning show.”
Authorities with Homeland Security Investigations, Michigan State Plice, and the Battle Creek Police Department arrested Balyo at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
