Some of Chrysler’s SUVs have recently been recalled due to a potential fire hazard, according to ABC News.

About the Chrysler Vanity Light Recall

Chrysler says it will issue a recall affecting about 651,000 U.S. vehicles because there is a potential for vanity mirror lights that have been repaired to short circuit and start a fire if improperly reassembled. Although Chrysler says only vehicles that have undergone repair to lighted sun visors, the automaker is recalling all vehicles as a precaution. The automaker is aware of three injuries associated with the defect.

Description of the Recalled Vehicles

  • The recall affects the following vehicle makes and models:
    • 2011-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    • 2011-2014 Dodge Durango
  • Globally, Chrysler estimates the recall affects 895,000 vehicles including 45,000 in Canada; 23,000 in Mexico; and 175,000 outside of the U.S.
