Roche Halted Clinical Trials on Aleglitazar
Roche halted clinical trials on their diabetes drug aleglitizar (AleCardio trial) at the recommendation of the Data and Safety Monitoring Board due to “safety signals and lack of efficacy.”
Alexander Klauser, a spokesperson for Roche, commented that there was evidence that Aleglitazar was linked to heart and kidney problems as well as bone fractures.
