On Thursday, a handful of people were hospitalized due to a collision between a school bus and pickup truck in Sac County, Iowa, off Highway 20.

About the School Bus Collision

The Sac County Sheriff’s Department informed sources that Debra Dettman was driving the school bus around 4:15 p.m. when she struck August Bach’s pickup truck at the intersection of Rolf Ave. and Highway 20.

Unfortunately, both vehicles did end up in the north ditch. There were four students in the bus, two of whom sustained minor injuries and were hospitalized alongside Dettman. Bach and his passenger, Jennifer Elliot, were also hospitalized.

The school bus had approximately $25,000 in damages and Dettman was charged for the failure to yield from a stop sign.
