Colorado DOT Worker Seriously Injured in Accident

A worker from the Colorado Department of Transportation was injured in an accident that happened on Interstate 25.

Better Roads News is reporting that a contractor from the Colorado Department of Transportation was injured when a vehicle hit the worker’s vehicle in a work zone on Interstate 25, which is near Johnstown, according to police.

Police have further stated that the accident happened in the early morning hours when the driver of a 2011 Ford Escape was heading north on the southbound section of the Interstate that was closed for construction. The Ford Escape hit the worker’s F-350.

No one was in the truck at the time of the accident, but the truck did strike the worker after he was hit. The driver of the Escape, a passenger in the vehicle, and the road contract worker all sustained serious injuries in the accident, according to the Colorado State Police. Drugs or alcohol are suspected to have been involved in the accident.
