CBS Local News in Denver is reporting that a fatal accident that happened in the Lakewood area on Monday morning resulted in the death of one person and closed off a section of Kipling parkway to traffic attempting to go through the area.

According to the Lakewood Police Department, the single vehicle accident happened at about 3:40 a.m. near the intersection of South Kipling Parkway and West Kentucky Drive. The driver was the only person in the vehicle and was pronounced dead after he was transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The Lakewood Police Department closed the northbound lanes between West Mississippi Avenue and West Exposition Avenue due so that they would be able to conduct their investigation.
