Construction Worker in Critical Condition
A construction worker was transported to Lakeside Medical Center in critical condition after a serious work-related accident occurred.
About the Construction Accident
WPTV states, Palm Beach Country Fire Rescue crews responded to a construction accident at 8:23 a.m. on Saturday in Western Palm Beach County, Florida.
A worker was injured at the construction site when his bulldozer went into a canal by the Old Talisman Sugar Mill near South Bay.
Rescue crews responded out to the 13800 block of US Highway 27 and found the bulldozer along with several bystanders who had went into the canal to rescue the driver.
The small amount of fuel and oil that spilled into the water was contained.

The following information was provided by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA):
- 19.3% of the 4,175 worker fatalities in 2012 occurred in construction.
- The leading cause of employee deaths on construction sites was falls, which account for a total of 34.6% of the fatalities.
- Construction's “Fatal Four” (falls, struck by object, electrocutions, and caught-in/between) accounted for 54.2% of construction worker deaths in 2012.
- Eliminating the Fatal Four would save an average of 436 workers' lives every year in America.
