A construction worker was killed in an accident at an Iroquois Village project.

Details about the Fatal Construction Accident

CBS 6 News Albany is reporting that a construction worker was killed after he fell from a building that was under construction in Niskayuna, according to rescue crews.

Officials have stated that the call for the emergency came in at about 11:30 a.m. on Sunday morning when they received reports of a male construction worker that fell about 35 feet while he was working on a roof.

Emergency crews indicated that the worker was treated at the scene of the accident and then taken to the GE Research helipad center, where he was then flown to the Albany Medical Center.

The Police Chief from the Niskayuna Police Department has said that the man later died at the hospital. The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Wilfredo Vasquez, of Boston.

A spokesman from the Rankin Construction company stated that Vasquez was a sub-contractor and did not work for their company. They are working to find out who it is that the man worked for at the time of the accident.
