Crosby Man Charged in Fatal Accident

According to multiple news sources, a 34-year-old Crosby man named Eric Brian Ellison was involved in an automobile accident with a motorcycle rider that caused death and will result in a felony charge against him.

Details of the Fatal Motorcycle Accident

KIII-TV reports Ellison was driving his SUV when he failed to yield the right of way when he drove into the driving path of the 18-year-old victim’s motorcycle.

The victim, Tamon Willis, was left lying on the dark road, when a third driver in a pickup truck was unable to see the victim lying on the ground and couldn’t stop in time to avoid hitting the victim. Willis died at the scene.

Ellison’s past criminal history includes a 15-year sentence for aggravated robbery, which he recently finished serving, as well as a fine and probation for an auto theft that occurred in 2000.

  • 3,534 people were killed in auto accidents in Texas in 2014 – a 3.7-percent increase from the 3,408 fatalities reported in 2013.
  • 581 of the deaths recorded in 2014 were linked to head-on collisions.
  • Motorcycle accidents accounted for 463 fatalities in 2014.
  • Another 237,941 people were injured in auto accidents in 2014 with 17,152 people sustaining incapacitating injuries.
