Crossbows Recalled-Injury Hazard
Excalibur Crossbows Inc. has recently recalled about 1,000 crossbows due to an injury hazard.
About the Crossbow Recall
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Excalibur has received one report of the crossbow firing unexpectedly.
The crossbow could pose as an injury hazard to consumers. CPSC recommends that consumers stop using the recalled crossbows and immediately call Excalibur for a free inspection and repair.

Description of Recalled Crossbows
- Crossbows being recalled are the Excalibur Matrix Mega 405 crossbows. On the left side of the stock there is a printed label that says “Matrix 405”.
- The crossbow measures 36 inches long and was sold in a mossy oak tree stand camouflage pattern. It is sold individually or in addition to four-arrow quiver and bracket, four arrows, and four 150-grain field points and rope-cocking aid.
- Crossbows were sold at sporting goods nationwide from February 2014 through March 2014 for $1000 for the crossbow and $1400 when sold as a package with crossbow and additional equipment.
