The family of the victims was shocked to hear that the driver responsible for killing two boys was acquitted on careless driving charges by the Detroit jury.

Detail about the Fatal Accident

The 34-year-old man, identified as Mlinzi McMillian, was in charge of both boys while driving them from a football practice to their home when the accident happened two years ago.

The accident was caused by carelessness and high-speed driving.

According to Fox2Detroit, “McMillian’s own 12-year-old son was killed in the crash, and so was 14-year-old Jalen Jemison. Jalen’s mother was dating McMillian at the time.

McMillian was taken to the hospital after the accident but made a full recovery.

Additional Details

  • McMillian was put on probation by the Wayne State County officials.
  • It was later discovered that McMillian had six previous felonies and seven prior misdemeanors.
