Driver at Fault in Fatal Accident Had Drug Prescription for Head Injury

Police have released new information about the driver believed to be at-fault for a deadly head-on collision on Texas 173, according to mySA. The driver, Mario H. Moreno, 50, had recently been prescribed medication for a work-related head injury.

More about the Fatal Crash

According to police, a witness saw a truck driven by Moreno swerving between lanes prior to the crash. Moreno’s vehicle was traveling in the southbound lane of TX 173 when Moreno veered suddenly into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Erin Wilson, 19.

Both Moreno and his passenger, Cody Adams, 18, were killed in the crash. Wilson was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash and is listed in stable condition.

Authorities will conduct on autopsy on Moreno. In 1997, he was charged with DWI twice. Moreno pled guilty/no contest in one case and had the other dismissed.
