Driver Facing Manslaughter Charges Following Kilgore Crash

A 22-year-old woman is facing three charges of intoxication manslaughter following a fatal collision in Kilgore, Texas that left two young children and their mother dead.

Three Dead in Kilgore Crash

According to KETK, two children, Ryera Patel, 5, and Trish Patel, 12, and their mother, Heenda Patel, were killed when the van they were riding in was struck by Shelby Taylor, 22.

Taylor had been traveling north on Loop 259 when the vehicles collided around 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning. Taylor along with another passenger in her vehicle was treated for minor injuries.

The two young sisters were pronounced dead at the scene. The father of the children Ketanbahai Patel was driving the van and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The children’s mother Heenda Patel, who was in the passenger seat, was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. She later died of her injuries.

Taylor is currently facing three charges of intoxication manslaughter.
