Driver Injured After Car Pinned, Dragged Under 18-Wheeler

An 18-wheeler dragged a vehicle underneath it down Highway 281 in San Antonio leaving the driver of the car injured.

KSAT 12 News in San Antonio is reporting that an 18-wheeler dragged a vehicle that was pinned underneath the big rig along Highway 281 heading south for about a quarter of a mile, according to deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s office.

The 18-wheeler was heading south along Highway 281 at around 6:30 a.m., when a car that was entering the roadway hit the truck and was pinned underneath it.

The big rig continued to drag the car until another driver was able to alert the driver of the truck about what happened. The driver of the big rig was unaware of the accident and thought he simply blew a tire and planned to take the Bulverde Exit to investigate.

The driver of the car that was pinned underneath the big rig was taken to University Hospital with neck and head injuries but was alert at the time he was transported.

Traffic was stalled in the area, but all lanes are back open again.
