One person was killed on Thursday morning after being involved in an accident in Columbia County.

Details about the Fatal Accident

WJBF News is reporting that one person was killed on Thursday morning after the vehicle they were in slammed into two tress that were on the side of the road, for unknown reasons.

According to police in the Appling, Georgia area, the accident involved a black Honda Accord and happened near the intersection of Cobbham Road and White Tiger Road just after 5:15 a.m. The driver of the vehicle, 20-year-old Christopher Jamal Tutt, of Thompson, was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

At this time, it is uncertain what the contributing factors in the accident were, but it was very foggy in the area this morning. An investigation into the accident remains ongoing at this time.
