Driver of Semi Dies After Truck Careens Off Bridge

A semi-truck driver is dead after his truck went off a bridge and caught fire northwest of San Antonio early Tuesday morning.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, the truck was carry milk products along Interstate 10 around 3 am when the driver fell asleep behind the wheel. The truck veered off a bridge and into a ditch where the tanker’s fuel ignited, leading to a large explosion.

The 26-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was unrecognizable due to the fire.

Traffic was diverted while Hazmat crews cleared the scene.
