Driver Runs Away After Fatal Pile-Up on I-35

A man ran away from a fatal pile-up on Interstate 35 in San Antonio and hid for four hours until he was found.

About the Fatal San Antonio Pile-Up

According to the San Antonio Express-News, the man was driving a gold sedan and traveling southbound on I-35 around 3 a.m. Thursday when he hit a cable in the highway median near Kinney Road.

The car was left in the lane, causing a black car and 18-wheeler to crash into it. The driver of the black car was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the gold sedan ran away while medics were attending to the driver of the black car. He hid in a plant nursery along the highway until a security guard found him and forced him to leave.

Deputies detained the runaway driver as he was walking back to his car.
