DWI Offender Pleads Guilty to Pedestrian Death

Repeat driving while intoxicated offender Amy Humphreys, 31, accepted a plea deal Wednesday which will require her to serve 15 years in prison.

About the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

According to the San Antonio Express-News, Humphryes struck and killed 19-year-old Cedtych Carrisalez in February 2013 while under the influence.

Carrisales was walking along the curb on Mulberry Avenue near Brackenridge Park in San Antonio when Humphreys sped out of a parking lot and hit him. The impact threw Carrisalez into the wall of a nearby building.

 Though Carrisales was rushed to a nearby hospital for nearby, he was pronounced dead within a few hours.

Humphreys told police that she had two shots prior to the accident and had been smoking marijuana all day.
