El Paso Teen Critically Injured by Distracted Driver

A teenager sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a driver who may have been using a cell phone when the incident occurred.

About the El Paso Accident

According to KFOX-14, 14-year-old Paola Munoz was rushed to the hospital after being hit by a 2004 Chevrolet Trail Blazer around 6 pm Friday.

Munoz was in a crossing Alameda Avenue near Ysleta High School when she was struck by the 62-year-old driver. Munoz was in a crosswalk.

Investigators suspect the driver was distracted a cell phone when the accident occurred. Investigators have not determined whether charges will be filed in connection with the incident.
